Two day programme in the Hague

Anna Norup Wünsch, Roman Bistak and Patrik Plavec, three participants and young diplomats from Denmark, Slovakia, and the EU Commission, took part in the two-day program filled with sessions on the Dutch foreign policy priorities and the Dutch-European Union relations , with speakers from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Furthermore, a visit to the Dutch Parliament and the International Criminal Court was made, to gain a better understanding of Dutch politics and international law.

The purpose of the programme

The EDP program was established back in 1999 by the European External Action Service and represents a learning environment in which the participants can experiment, develop their core diplomatic skills, have open discussions and build up a pan-European network from which they can benefit the rest of their careers. The program fosters understanding between EU Member States and European institutions and focusing on EU external policy, contributes to true ‘European diplomacy’.
